As category context only, the Brewers Association guideline for Other Strong Ale or Lager covers any style intentionally brewed to a higher alcohol content than its own guideline allows, at 8 percent ABV or more and not wood or barrel aged. The brewery's listed strength is below that guideline threshold; no evidence establishes a stronger competition batch.
